Cost Transparency: Why My Advice Costs You No Extra Charge

Transparent Cost Consultation

"Nothing in life is free." In financial services, there is often skepticism regarding costs. I'll explain to you openly and honestly how I am paid and why you as a customer benefit from my status as an independent broker.

How does the remuneration work?

In Germany, the costs for advice and sales are already firmly calculated into the tariff for almost all insurance and financial products. These so-called sales costs (commission/courtage) flow to whoever mediates the contract – whether that's a portal, a bank, or an independent broker.

This means for you: The price for your insurance is identical, whether you click on it anonymously on the internet or whether I, as your fiduciary (Sachwalter), advise you in detail and set up the contract for you.

Online Purchase: Paying Without Performance

If you buy directly from an insurance company or on a portal, you still pay the sales costs with your monthly contribution. Only you receive no personal service in return. The money stays with the portal or the insurance company. If you use my expertise instead, you get the service "for free" because the insurance company pays me for managing your contract – including my full liability for the quality of advice.

Are there exceptions? (Net Policies)

In retirement provision, there are special tariffs without included commissions, so-called Net Policies. Here we agree on a separate fee for the consultation. This is often the most transparent and, in the long term, cheapest form of provision. We always clarify whether this makes sense for you individually and in advance.

Honesty lasts longest

I am paid for you to be satisfied in the long term. If you cancel your contract, I have to pay back part of my remuneration. My economic interest is therefore identical to yours: suitable protection that lasts permanently.

Conclusion: Advice is a Gain, not a Cost Factor

Stop paying for service you don't use. If the costs are included in the tariff anyway, you should also have the best possible expert by your side. My advice saves you time, nerves, and in an emergency, a lot of money.

Checklist: Cost Check

  • Are the premiums higher with you than directly with the insurer? (No!)
  • Do I pay extra for help with claims? (No!)
  • Has the commission model been explained to me transparently?
